Bonn was the last city of rhe 2024 short Germany trip, which happened to be the pickup point for the tomorrowland shuttle. It is not a top Germany destination, but Bonn used to be capital of West Germany, and does have some nice museums.

The history of the federal republic, was first:

Next was the Bonn Deutsches Museum, a fun science related one

including a performing robot dog

After that was the Arithmeum, very cool collection of old calculators:

After Cochem, went to Koblenz, interesting city where the Mosel and the Rhine join:

Small museum

Then there is a cable car that takes you to the fort across the river:

First trip in 2024, Cochem and the surrounding Mosel area, are wonderful, very happy to have been back:

Went to vistt the Cochem caste, nice little one, sadly most castes in Germany have a stupid policy that doesn't allow you to take pictures inside, but I must have not heard right :)

Nice little walk down to town:

Next was visiting the very cool Bundersbank Bunker, it was secretly built to house an entire new currency that was meant to replace the german currency pretty much overnight if it was ever compromized during the war.

lots of new money, all ready
lots of new money, all ready

Back to town:

Another quick castle on the way:

great views
great views

Back for more in 2025, went to see Eltz Castle this time around, it's a long walk from the parking lot, so it makes sense to pay the shuttle. There might have been something about no pictures inside the castle again, but my german is rusty...

by bye :)

Koln was worth a stop on the way back south. First if you're French, "eau de cologne" is famous, and the cathedral was quite impressive. There was also a Roman museum, but it was closed that day.

eah de cologne :)

The old remnants looked cool:

The Roman museum had a view displays from the outside:

The cathedral was nice:

Dusseldorf was a good stop on the way up to Parookaville, maybe not a top destination but still some nice things to visit while there:

The best food in Germany is still breakfast ;)

The neanderthal museum opened first, so we started with that:

They were very proud of their new outdoor structure built where they found remains, but honestly it was kind of a waste of time:

why was this here? ;)

Nextdoor-ish, the emotion air balloon museum was fun:

Downtown has a nice little river walk with metermaids working hard to ticketting anyone who stopped:

They had a museum complex, wroth quick visit:

Frankfurt is not the most exciting city to visit in Germany, but SFO - FRA direct was cheap enough with Condor, so there we go :)

I did a bit of search and found a few things to see in Frankfurt anyway :)

Hotel by Main train station:

I found a museum of electronic music:

Many of the churches are a bit basic, but still nice to see:

After the war, the main square of Frankfurt got rebuilt to be a bit cute:

Crossing the bridge:

And back to the main station, didn't have to take the train, but nice station:
