Ok, so I like electronic dance music, more specifically Trance. When I started in the 1990's, the US was a bit behind in that department.
Still, with San Francisco and San Jose nearby, I've had some opportunities to see some great EDM/Trance DJs. Back in the early 2000's, they sadly played club music in the US that was nowhere close to the hits they had composed and were known for, but over the years, as Trance started becoming more popular, those DJs finally started playing their good tunes in the US too, and maybe from 2004 on, it's only been getting better.
Popsicle Halloween 2004 was really the beginning of great music parties in the San Francisco Area, and thankfully things have gotten even better since then

As a matter of fact, after another 10 years (2015 and beyond) the good news is that Trance has grown quite a following in the US, and places like the SF Bay Area, and while Trance has been declared dead a few times in the last 10 years, it's still going strong here.
Trance Family SF is definitely strong in the area, we've been getting more big trance parties every year, including many top DJs that come visit us what feels like every other week now (as of 2018-2019), and through those events, I made many friends in Trance Family SF. Thanks to you all.

Over those years, I got the chance to meet a few of my favourite DJs, including Armin more than once, and my last hobby has been to work on lights for my shirt and pants (version 3) and (version 4)

2022/10/29 Halloween Party Night: Jonny Atom, TempleSF, and Dave Dresden at Audio SF
π 2022-10-29 01:01 in Clubbing
One night, 3 parties, woohoo!

We started with a Halloween TFSF Party at Jonny Atom's place, very nice party:

We got ourselves a new Paris Hilton :)
We got ourselves a new Paris Hilton :)

And if Paris Hilton can do it, so can I :) This was extra fun because in all these years, I had acually never used any DJ equipment. I know by osmosis the general concepts though, so by just looking at the decks and playing with buttons, I was able to link them so that the 2nd deck could read from the USB stick in the first deck.
From there, I was able to select tracks and start playing. I'm sure my transitions were not the best ones in DJ history, haha, and I managed to get enough things working that I was able to DJ and transition from track to track. Autosync helped of course :)

We then went to Temple in SF and arrived just before it opened, which was good because the line became huge before long. Saturday was a very busy night for all the clubs. Nice club, it was still filling up when I arrived, but cool to have a look:

From there, I went back to my car and headed over to Audio 10mn away, as I wanted to attend Dave Dresden's OTC party at Audio. Dave gave us a musical journey across genres to a room that got packed before long:

Dave went on his 4H journey that we all got to enjoy until 02:00:

Here is a pretty good video summary of some of his tracks:

And before long, it was time to leave and go to respective after parties. Mine didn't suck :)

2022/10/15 How Weird Festival in SF, and Afterparty at DNA Lounge
π 2022-10-15 01:01 in Clubbing, Festivals
This was my first time at How Weird Festival, it's not actually huge, just a couple of city blocks, but somehow it fit 9 stages, 7 were of good size.

Given that it was mostly during the day, I took my brighter LED outfit, which worked well. Glad to have run into a bunch of friends:

Lots of other people with fun costumes:

randomly ran into Spencer Brown who actually recognized me as I passed by :)

Like I said, lots of stages and fun:

Went to the temple rooftop:

I then switched to my better LED costume for the night:

And we then went to the after party at DNA Lounge to see more psytrance and Khromata:

5H set, yes please. Markus played a mix of genres from progressive to trance, great night for all, and of course it was great to run into all our friends again

The side room also had good music, 2 for the price of 1:

Of course, seeing friends is a good part of the fun, too:

Ferry Corsten was not amused :)

And after a 5.5h set, Markus came to greet the crowd:
