2024/01/12 Another Dinner at TJ

It had been over 10 years since I last went to TJ, mostly because that last experience then was not good (over 4H for the dinner, and likely food poisoning, but that's hard to say for sure). Chez TJ does change chefs every few years, so it really depends when you go. This time around, it was a brand new chef who started just a few days earlier. The dinner was good, but not in line with the price they charged, which was closer to what 3 star restaurants charge, when they only had one star.
The service was good, food was pretty good, but I felt it was distasteful to add some silly health fee on the bill, and mandate a 20% tip. The restaurant was virtually empty on a friday night, which was also somewhat worrisome but maybe linked.

The drink selection was good, and if someone wanted to spend $500 on a very special wine pairing, that was available

I got a very interesting blueberry cider, it was very good

Nice dishes and still a fun evening:

this entremet looked nice but taste was underwhelming

the main dish, chicken, was good bug a lot of food instead of having other tasting portions

intersting cheese and salad presentation

desert was good, but just a single one

2023/12/31 NYE Dinner at Villa 9 Trois

We had been there before in previous years, and I was happy to invite my dad and Patricia for another NYE dinner there. It was a fixed menu. Of course it wasn't cheap, as nothing is on NYE, but it was quite good without being too much food:

2023/06/29 Dinner at Michelin 3 Star Restaurant Pierre Gagnaire

I wanted to treat my dad for another very nice dinner, and he got a picture with the chef:

The menu was flexible and interesting, and the many dishes were yummy :)

2023/05/17 Joel Robuchon in Vegas

Joel Robuchon is the other michelin 3 star restaurant in Vegas, and has a fancier tasting menu than Guy Savoy in Vegas, so I was happy to be able to get a reservation this time around and share it with my TFSF friend who was also attending EDC:

some expensive bottles in there

Just the bread cart was great

my personal selection :)

the best part is dessert

it was hard not to choose them all :)

Yummy dinner it was, super happy I was able to go.

It was nice to try the la foret full 7 course tasting menu again, yum, and in very good company:

It was a unexpected nice private dinner with a 2 michel star Spanish Chef, Diego Guerrero. Quite yummy and good company.

2022/05/19 Guy Savoy in Vegas

After Guy Savoy in Paris, being in Vegas for EDC made it a good excuse to try the one in Vegas. I'll be honest that in the $400-$500 range per person before wines, Joel Robuchon has a better menu with more options, although by the time I figured that out, it was already full, so Guy Savoy it was.

While not being cheap, and with a more limited menu, it was a very good dinner, even if it only had half the courses compared to the Paris location:
