2009/08/09 After Wedding Cleanup
π 2009-08-09 01:01 in Family
While the staff we hired along with our chef did a great job cleaning most of the dishes, that of course could not include the dishes we were still eating and drinking from when the staff left after the last dish. Washing just that was a lot of work, so I can't imagine how much it would have been to wash everything.
But of the main job was to separate rentals from our stuff, salvage food that was salvageable, including re-inviting family that was still there on sunday to help us finish the leftovers, including the huge amounts of cake we had left (since we were flying out 2 days later, most of the food had to go).
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the already opened wine, that was also something we had to deal with :)

by now, it wasn't looking too bad, except for food, wine, and 80-ish glasses to wash

Monday, I'm not too sure what we worked on, but the day went by very quickly: returning all the rentals, more cleanup, last minute planning for our trip, fixing just broken sprinklers so that the grass doesn't die while we're gone, packing/freezing left over food, and of course packing our luggage.

2009/08/08 Our Wedding Day
π 2009-08-08 01:01 in Family, Public
And then came the day:

The pictures below are from 5 different photographers, including JBQ with his professional gear (while Eugenia was filming):

Setup:

Talking about Fabien, we totally lucked out on finding him: he was a great French chef who did a great job with our event, especially since we had a fair amount of French food connaisseurs.

Getting ready:

The ceremony was in two parts:

So that's around the time that she asked for the Rings, which well, we didn't quite bring after having decided not go with best man and maid of honor. In the end, we were a bit rushed and neither Jennifer nor I kind of remembered to bring the rings. This was no big deal though it only took a minute for me to get them inside and for the ceremony to resume after everyone had a good laugh at our expense :)

Food time:

Photo ops. Doh, having 5-6 people taking pictures ensured that no one was looking at the same camera :)

Dinner:

Desert:

After desert:

All in all, it was a great day. Everything went more or less according to plan, Jennifer didn't fall in the cake :) and everyone had a great time. Thanks to all for coming, Michel for retrieving our cakes, and JBQ/Eugenia for the pictures and video.

2009/08/06 Pre-wedding family gathering at Ridge Winery
π 2009-08-06 01:01 in Family
Jennifer had the good idea of doing a picnic and wine tasting at Ridge Winery just before our wedding as a way for our families to meet before the wedding. It was a great idea which panned out just fine.

Good wine and food was had by all and the wine connaisseurs had two reasons to enjoy themselves :)

2009/08/05 Families visiting us
π 2009-08-05 01:01 in Family
A few days before our wedding, Jennifer and my parents independently came over. I didn't take a lot of pictures, but Five didn't seem to be too swayed by that. He was happy to be fed by anyone, even my not so cat loving dad ;)
