Day 1: Tutorials: Kernel Programming

Well, if being half awake during the previous tutorial wasn't bad enough, you can imagine how the kernel programming tutorial was. Jet lag sucks :-)

About 100 people showed up for Jes Sorensen's tutorial. Jes has done kernel work at CERN (Switzerland) on network cards (HIPPI, gigabit ethernet) and he also works on various other things, like the 68K port.

Amazingly, even though the 2.3.x branch was just opened a couple of weeks ago, Jes wrote an additional 2.3 slide in the plane on the way to the expo.

Jes did a really good job: doing a kernel talk that isn't superficial, but yet fits in a few hours is not an easy task and he handled it very well.
It's for obvious reasons difficult to give a summary of his talk.
