Thinkpad I Series 1450
This page only has information specific to this laptop. If you haven't come from
there, and before Emailing me, please look at the
main page for more info and specs.
Good things:
- A P 266 is be somewhat slower, but battery live is extended as a result
- Rolling volume button
- Controls to play audio CDs while computer is off
- Awesome speakers
- Touchpoint with 3 buttons which work as intended under X. Yes!
- APM fully works under linux
- Really big keyboard with great layout. Yes, this laptop is a bit bigger,
but it's really worth it.
- Support for both saving to RAM and saving to disk with two different keys
(meaning you choose at run time, it's not a setting in the bios that's either
one or the other)
Bad things:
- A few glitches with PCMCIA as explained on the main
page
- Internal winmodem
- I didn't get sound to work, but I'm almost convinced it is possible. Worst
case, the commercial OSS drivers should
work. $10 ain't that much.
- A bit expensive, but then I think it's worth it
