I had a few extra days in the Caribeans area before flying to Europe and went to Curacao for land based diving. I found out once arrived that boat diving was pointless there as all the reefs were accessible by the coast. At the same time, the dive company at Lion's beach dive resort was very underwelming: They were expensive, they were fully booked out, so I was not able to go with them more than one day, but it was a blessing, they only offered overused shorties in 26C water, WTF?!? I Was freezing..., the boat was unnecessary as you could drive to the dive sites, and they stuck me with the most inept group of divers I have seen in a very long time. Thankfully the dive guide let me solo dive while he was struggling to grab 3 old ladies that couldn't dive to save their lives.

The next 2 days, I did private dives with a shore dive company and was super lucky to be the sole diver, so that was a huge win:

those colorful spotted bluefish were super nice but very skittish

Day #3:

After the 2 dives, I did dolphin experience at the aquarium:

Decent diving overall, different from what I was used to, and super important to dive with the right shop. I also learned that for that one location, shore diving actually worked just as well, or better, than more expensive boat diving.
