Werner Almesberger: Linux on Psion 5 Steven Hill: Linux on Windows CE machines

Werner Almesberger organized this BOF as he is involved in the Linux-7k project, or linux on Psion 5 (note that the Psion 3 is a different machine).

You can find Werner's slides in the middle of the picture gallery (which are also available from Werner's ftp site)

There are still some glitches, and power management is still not as effective as he native OS', yet Werner reported that he can get about a week uptime on a set of AA batteries. In other words, it's not completely finished yet, but it already works fairly well.

I didn't get a definite answer on Palmpilots. It seems that you need a special 8MB card, and that it kind of boots but that it isn't complete yet.

Steven Hill is working on the WindowsCE PDAs, but it is still work in progress.
